Victor Whang of Insurance Warehouse

Meet Victor Whang

Insurance Specialist Since 1987

I have been advising clients since 1987. I wanted to offer a one-stop-shopping experience where my clients could get ALL their insurance coverage needs with one phone call or visit, hence the name “Insurance Warehouse”.

I developed my practice and approach to assisting clients with their insurance needs by observing and listening to friends, relatives and acquaintances who complained about their insurance agents not contacting them with important information like rate increases, new products that might be better than what they currently had and overall service issues. I looked back on my own personal experiences, (because I have to purchase all my own insurance coverage too), and agreed that I wasn’t receiving top notch attention from my agents either. From this input, I decided that I could and would do better . I developed an approach that put client needs and desires before profitability. My philosophy is simple.

1. Assess the true needs of the client, not just what is good for the agency.

2. Be knowledgeable of both traditional and alternative programs that will satisfy the objectives of the client but may have better rates.

3. Explain what the client gets, how it differs and why it works.

4. Offer top-level assistance to my clients when they need help.

5. Have integrity to tell prospects to stay with what they have if I can’t offer a better alternative…pounding a square peg into a round hole just to make a commission isn’t ethical.

Keeping clients happy and treating them like they are the most important part of my business is just plain common sense but you’d be surprised how that philosophy is not maintained by all agents or agencies. If clients aren’t happy, they don’t stay with you or refer others and if you lose more than you gain, both the reputation of the business and the agents representing the business suffer. As the President of the company, it’s my duty to lead by example and set the service standard higher than our competition because in the end, insurance is a commodity. Premium prices are set by the carrier so all agents offer the same plan at the same price. However, there are 2 distinguishing factors that can make a world of difference.

1. The level of product and industry knowledge an agent has.

2. The attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile to service the client.

Why are these 2 items so critical? It’s because there are so many different insurance companies offering the same or similar coverages and not all of them operate the same way. It’s knowing how each one works and why it might or might not be the best choice for a client that makes all the difference in the world. Let’s face it, you only need insurance to work after something goes wrong. Not only do you have the physical and psychological trauma associated with the incident, the last thing you want is to have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get your insurance company to pay your claims.

In today’s day and age, keeping up with the latest government information and how it affects your coverage and premiums is paramount for success since the law sets policy and policy sets prices. Each year I travel to Washington and visit with various Senators and Congressmen on Capitol Hill to not only stay informed on what is happening in their world but let them know what needs to be changed, altered or fixed to improve both ACA and Medicare for the US population. I am also a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters that has been asked for its opinion on how to re-engineer Obamacare to make it more efficient, less costly, and user friendly. Many of our suggestions and recommendations have been the subject of numerous high-level conversations but whether Washington fully listens to and implements our suggestions, is unknown at this time. All these efforts allow me to be better informed and prepared to coach my clientele as to what serves their needs in the ever-changing situation than most other agents.

I make sure to know how various companies process claims, what they expect my clients to provide as documentation and then explain this information in understandable English. I also offer to help you go through your claim step by step for a successful outcome if needed. All of this extra attention comes at no charge to you…it’s just part of my service.

Last but not least, Insurance Warehouse contracts with all the well known providers and some that may not be on your radar screen because they don’t advertise. All these “quiet” companies have been vetted so we know they offer quality programs at lower rates…after all…don’t you think you pay for all the advertising you see? This allows me to shop, compare and offer coverage other agencies aren’t even aware of which just might be the right plan for you. I would love the opportunity to help you know if you are in the best plan for your needs or budget. “One call does it all”. You’ll be amazed at the difference! ✆ 586-623-5629
